INVENTORY MANAGER

Role Summary 

The Inventory Manager will be responsible for the effective receipt, warehousing, and timely delivery of supplies. The individual will lead, manage, and control the materials procurement and storage for the company to meet Cost, Availability, Reliability, and Project delivery targets. These targets also pertain to warehousing and logistics. He/she will be required to provide coaching to employees within the procurement departments. They should typically have an analytical mindset, great organisational skills, and the ability to perform under pressure with demanding deadlines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the execution of procurement activities through the deployment of best practices.
  • Oversee the execution of commercially competitive procurement strategies and material supply agreements from initiation through to delivery.
  • Lead the operational process for receiving, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Establishing re-order points for all stock items and conducting periodic analyses of all inventories to ensure optimal stock levels are attained to meet the needs of the project.
  • Manage the stocktaking process at year-end and other designated times for all the stock categories with full investigations of the causes of variances.
  • Manages the supply chain process via SAGE.
  • Ensuring all stock movement is carried out using SAGE.
  • Prepares inventory movement reports for dissemination to the relevant departments, as well as provides daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reconciliation reports.
  • Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met.
  • Develops business relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience 

  • BA or BSc Degree in Accounting, Operations Management, Finance, Inventory Management or related field with a strong emphasis on Inventory & Purchasing
  • 3 years’ supervisory experience in inventory control and analysis and warehouse management
